PEER Evaluation

PEER Evaluation

The move clip from saw 5 called survival of the fittest in the opening 30 seconds one of the first camera angles I noticed was an extreme close up this was used when jig-saw was talking to the other characters on the TV shown here in this link-http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8BgcozieWuE#t=28. Using the close up in this way makes what he is saying more important because it put more emphasis on what he says, it also makes it seem as though he is talking to the audience this means that they empathize with the characters and you can feel the fear and the tension they feel.

The next camera angle is a canted angle shot this was used from once jig-saw had finished his speech and was then used throughout the scene in a variety of shot such as close up, mid shot and two shot. Here is the link-http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8BgcozieWuE#t=47 This puts the instability of the scene it also shows the desperation of the characters. Using this camera relates the the audience because it shows the confusion of the characters making the the audience feel there confusion also.

The last significant camera angle I noticed was the shallow focus angle this was used when one other the charecter stept on the others grasped hand on a key shown here in this link-http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8BgcozieWuE#t=104. This put emphasis on the aggression and the pain that the character is felling and relates to the audience so they can empathize with his pain and feel sorry for him.
